Internship program Change Management in Healthcare Organizations as for State-of-the-Art Nursing Care

September 21–26, 2017, internship program for the heads of nursing services of healthcare organizations Change Management in Healthcare Organizations as for State-of-the-Art Nursing Care was held in the Federal State-Financed Educational Institution of Postgraduate Professional Education «The Saint Petersburg Postgraduate School of Nursing» under the Federal Medical Biological Agency.

Chief and senior nurses of medical centers, dispensaries, out-patient hospitals of healthcare organizations of Russia and Kazakhstan took part in this internship.

The event was held to exchange experience with colleagues, to study innovative technologies of nursing management and organization as well as quality control of nursing care, to present the best practices of leaders in health services, to implement modern aspects of nursing into healthcare facilities.

Traditionally, the internship program combined a theoretical part on the basis of the St. Petersburg Postgraduate School of Nursing and a practical part, including visits to clinical facilities and exchange of experience.

The internship program was opened with a welcome address by Irina Bakhtina, the Chief Specialist on Nursing Management of the FMBA of Russia, the Chief Specialist on Postgraduate Education within the St. Petersburg healthcare system, the Dean of the St. Petersburg Postgraduate School of Nursing of the FMBA of Russia.

On September 22, 2017, the modular course Live-Stream Simulation Training was organized and held within the framework of international partnership with South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences.

The lecturer and students from the South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences XAMK visited the St. Petersburg Postgraduate School of Nursing and the students from Kotka Campus participated remotely.

Internship program participants from Kazakhstan were given the expert cards to be filled up, and then there was a discussion. Debriefing was at the end of the training — all participants were able to express their opinion, as well as they noted the mistakes made during the simulation.
